J’den: Tapping on Jurong Lake District’s exciting transformation

J’den, the mixed-use development by CapitaLand Development, is expected to be one of the most exciting launches of the year. Located along Jurong East Central 1 and directly connected to Jurong East MRT Station, it is set to be a landmark development both figuratively and literally. At 150m above mean sea level, it will be the tallest mixed-used development in the Jurong Lake District (JLD).

As the first private residential project to launch in Jurong Gateway in the last 10 years, J’den looks to capitalise on the growth URA’s Master Plan 2019 has laid out for JLD. Spread across 360 hectares, JLD is envisioned to be the second CBD of Singapore outside of the city centre. As part of this greater vision, the Jurong East Integrated Transport Hub is set to be completed in 2027. This includes an air-conditioned bus interchange as well as a 27-storey tower block connected to an eight-storey podium, housing a public library, community club, sports centre, offices and retail spaces. The transport hub will be connected to Jurong East MRT Interchange, which operates on both East-West and North-South Lines. By 2028 and 2032, it will also be connected to the Jurong Region Line and Cross Island Line respectively.

For J’den residents, the strategic location of the development allows them to be right at the heart of this transformation. Connected to Westgate, IMM and Jem via J-Walk, an elevated and sheltered pedestrian crossing, residents can enjoy seamless and convenient city living. It also puts them in close proximity to Jurong Lake Gardens, a sprawling 90-hectare national gardens with waterfront boardwalks, play areas and recreation spaces, which will itself be undergoing a number of redevelopments.

At J’den, units range from one-bedders starting from 527 sq ft to four-bedroom apartments of 1,485 sq ft, all of which have primarily north-south orientation granting them views of Jurong Lake Gardens or the city. As a non-prefabricated prefinished volumetric construction (non-PPVC) development, owners have the flexibility to customise their homes according to their needs. Thoughtful bespoke provisions are also incorporated into various aspects of the home, such as secretly placed induction hobs and multi-functional island kitchen countertops.

The green spaces have been designed for recreational activities, such as outdoor sports and leisure activities. Furthermore, residents can enjoy the lush greenery of the Tengah Plantation EC while taking up a Yoga and Pilates session. Furthermore, to ensure the natural green environment of the Tengah Plantation EC, the building is equipped with energy-efficient air-conditioning and lighting systems. This is to reduce energy consumption and cost. Overall, residents of Tengah Plantation EC will benefit from a green living lifestyle and education all in one place. With green living and education just a step away from their homes, residents can now find convenience in living a sustainable lifestyle.

To promote wellness, numerous water and leisure facilities are available, such as a 50m lap pool, gym, function room, cardio corner, BBQ pavilion and outdoor playground. Furthermore, J’den looks to become a carlite district supporting greener mobility, with bicycle parking lots and electric vehicle charging stations available for residents.

As URA’s plan for JLD comes to fruition, J’den is well positioned to benefit from its sustainable growth in the years to come. With its strategic location and bespoke design and facilities, it is anticipated to become an integral part of the Jurong Lake District’s transformation into a vibrant business and leisure hub that exudes convenience of city living.
