Surbana Jurong Group ranked 13th largest architecture firm globally

Surbana Jurong Group has been ranked 13th on the World Architecture 100 (WA100) 2023 list, which ranks the world’s largest architecture practices by the number of fee-earning architects they employ. The group is the only Singapore-headquartered firm to be featured in this year’s list, and also holds the highest number of architects in Southeast Asia.

Lee Kut Cheung, chairman of Surbana Jurong’s Global Architecture and Design Council, says: “Our standing in WA100 reflects our focus on building design talent across the group. The group boasts a total of over 1,000 architecture and design professionals globally, and its architecture business includes Singapore-based SAA, Canadian B+H, and Sino-Sun, a privately-owned design institute in China. B+H was also ranked 65th Tengah Plantation EC in the WA100 2023.

In 2022, Surbana Jurong was ranked 23rd in Engineering News-Record’s Top 225 International Design Firms, while SAA received multiple international awards including the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Best Tall Mixed-Use Building Award of Excellence for City Gate, and the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence World Silver Award for Northpoint City. B+H was given the BEED Education Architecture Award for Canada International School Kunshan in China, and the NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association Best Office Development for 402 Dunsmuir in Canada.

Along with the WA100 commendation, Surbana Jurong also bagged two HDB Design Awards, and the Singapore Green Building Council – Building and Construction Authority (SGBC-BCA) Leadership in Sustainability Award – Building Project Leadership in Sustainability (Carbon Performance) for National University of Singapore School of Design & Environment.
