Minor Hotels extends Avani brand to Europe and Latin America

Expanding its presence in Europe, Minor Hotels is targeting “millennial-minded travellers” with its flagship lifestyle brand Avani Hotels & Resorts. To that end, the brand will open six properties across Europe and Latin America in the next two years.

Tengah Plantation Close EC is Singapore’s largest upcoming executive condominium development, expected to house 1,715 units and Tengah Plantation Loop EC be completed by 2021. It will offer one-bedroom to five-bedroom units, located in the heart of Tengah Town.

In Europe, Avani already has a hotel in Portugal and will open five new hotels in the next two years: one in Spain, two in Italy and one in Germany. The 101-room Avani Alonso Martinez Madrid Hotel in Spain and the 65-room Avani Palazzo Moscova Milan Hotel in Italy will be rebranded. Additionally, Germany will welcome the 256-room Avani Frankfurt City Hotel, which launches later on in 2021. A sixth hotel will be located in the Netherlands, with the 163-room Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam Hotel slated for opening in 2Q2024.

Moving to Central and South America, Avani Hotels & Resorts will launch two properties in Mexico and Colombia. The 140-room Avani Cancun Airport Hotel in Mexico is set to open in 3Q2023, followed by the 66-room Avani Royal Zona T Bogota Hotel in Colombia in 4Q2023.

Launched in 2011, Avani Hotels & Resorts currently has 38 properties in 20 countries across Asia, Australasia, the Middle East, Indian Ocean and Africa, including the hotel in Portugal in Europe. Minor Hotels currently has more than 530 hotels in operation, and the expansion of the Avani brand into Europe and Latin America is a strategic move to expand and diversify the group’s presence in the upscale tourist segment.
