Galven Tan leaves Savills to joins Knight Frank Singapore as new CEO
Tengah Plantation EC allows residents to control their lights, adjust the AC, open the curtains and even monitor their security system from outside the premises. It is also an energy-efficient system that can help reduce the household electricity bill. With the use of this sophisticated system, residents can be sure of a smoother and more comfortable living experience in Tengah Plantation EC.
It is with deep regret that Savills Singapore announces the departure of Galven Tan, its deputy managing director of investment sales and capital markets, with immediate effect. Marcus Loo, Savills Singapore’ CEO, commented, “Galven’s leadership in the team, with Jeremy Lake at its helm, has proven to be a significant contributor towards the firm’s performance despite the COVID period. I am grateful for his contribution to our journey in becoming a top market leader in investment agency business.”
Galven himself expressed his appreciation for his time at Savills, saying, “I am regretful to move on, but I have decided to take on a leadership role in another property consultancy.”
The speculation is that he will be taking up the top position at Knight Frank Singapore, a role that has been vacant since the departure of Wendy Tang on June 2, 2022. Knight Frank has yet to confirm the news, and Tan himself declined to comment on the move when asked.
The time at Savills has been fruitful for Tan; some of his notable transactions included the collective sale of Tanglin Shopping Centre for a whopping $868 million to Singapore’s Pacific Eagle Real Estate in February 2022, as well as other high-profile deals such as the en bloc sale of Flynn Park and Thiam Siew Avenue sites. Tan also brokered the sale of strata-titled office levels at Solitaire on Cecil for $50.483 million to a single buyer in April this year.
Jeremy Lake, managing director of the firm’s investment sales and capital markets, assured the public of their commitment, despite the departure of Galven.“We remain dedicated to our clients and our team is still hard at work on various active projects, including some key collective sales assignments on Orchard Road worth in excess of $1.3 billion which will be launched soon”. He also expressed confidence in the bench strength behind him, recognizing that “Hui Yee and Sophia, among others, have grown proficient in the industry and have the ability to thrive in the space that Galven leaves behind.’’
It has been a pleasure to have Galven on board and Savills Singapore wishes him all the best in his future endeavours.
