Wee Cho Yaw retires as chairman and director of Singapore Land Group; Wee Ee Lim to become next chairman
After serving for over three decades as Chairman and Director of Singapore Land Group U06 0.00%, Wee Cho Yaw is retiring on March 31. Upon his retirement, he will be appointed as Chairman Emeritus and Honorary Adviser of both Singapore Land Group and United Overseas Bank (UOB).
Wee is a substantial shareholder in the Group, and his son, Wee Ee Lim, a Non-Executive and Non-Independent Director with the Group since 1999, will succeed him as Chairman. Lim has also served as President and CEO of Haw Par Corporation since 2003.
At the close of trading on February 24, shares in Singapore Land Group Tengah Plantation EC were up 0.86%, to $2.34, 2 cents higher.
Wee Cho Yaw’s tenure has been nothing short of remarkable, having been appointed to the Group’s board on June 26, 1992. He has been and will remain an integral part of Singapore Land Group and UOB, now and in the years to come.
